Cohort Programs and Guided Pathways
Accelerated Pathway Cohorts
Accelerated Pathway Cohorts are designed to meet the needs of busy adults and working parents who thought the completion of a college degree was only a dream. This makes it possible for learners to take advantage of two key methods of acceleration: shortened time periods and credit for prior learning. Students move through their degree as a unified group, which encourages students to collaborate and learn from each other. Programs and courses are offered in Accounting (AAS), Health Records Specialist, Industrial Maintenance (AAS), Management (AAS), Mechanical (AAS), Medical Insurance Coding & Reimbursement and Welding.
Guided Pathways allow students to complete their degree on a block schedule of classes. The block schedule of classes provide students with a clearly defined program completion path. Guided Pathways are offered either in an accelerated pathway or a traditional pathway. Programs and courses are offered in Accounting (TTP), Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), Business Administration (TTP), and Industrial Automation.
Prior Learning Assessment
If you have experience in subjects offered by Pellissippi State, you may be able to gain credit for what you've already learned. It's called Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) and can be achieved through various methods.
