About Mechanical Engineering Technology
|
The Mechanical
Engineering Technology (MET) offers a core curriculum with the choice
of three concentrations:
-
Mechanical Concentration
-
Manufacturing Concentration
-
Quality Control Concentration
Cooperative Education/Internships
Students can gain valuable on-the-job experience while in college through
co-op education. Local manufacturing and engineering firms, as well as
UT, have employed co-op students. A number of graduates have been hired
full time where they served as co-op employees.
For information on salaries
and placement, visit the Placement Office's web site.
High School Preparation
Students who have successfully taken high school science and mathematics
(including algebra, geometry and trigonometry) tend to be best prepared
for the curriculum.
Scholarships
Several scholarships, including those specifically for MET students,
are available through the Pellissippi State Foundation and the Financial
Aid Office.
