Pellissippi State hosts Knoxville’s first international film festival

Knoxvillians will experience their first major international film festival November 17-23, and Pellissippi State, in partnership with the Southern Appalachian International Film Festival and the Knoxville Museum of Art, is the proud host. (more)

Violinist Arvel Bird to perform November 10

Blacksmithing class forges ahead

blacksmithOn a bright October afternoon, Brandi Cawood pulls a long metal pole out of the gas-fired forge. She places it on the anvil atop a tree stump. The ugly metal pole will eventually become a work of art, a beautiful lamp that she’ll use in her home. (more)

VPT student named Governor’s Volunteer Star of the Year

Sean Armbruster, a Video Production Technology student, has been selected as a Governor’s Volunteer Star of the Year. Armbruster was recognized by Gov. Phil Bredesen at the first Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards ceremony October 27. (more)
