Place of birth: Winston-Salem, North Carolina. However, my parents moved us back to their hometown of Maryville when I was 8 months old, so I consider myself a native Maryvillian.
Family members: Kim, my husband of 22 years, and Jacob, my 12-year-old son
Something no one knows about you: Nothing that I plan to announce to so many people that I don’t know!
Greatest achievement or proudest moment: My husband thinks my most remarkable achievement was finally learning how to back my van into the garage straight.
Favorite things outside work: Running with my two dogs, hiking with my husband and son, and reading the Bible, Time and books about my current interests.
Most rewarding part of your job: Watching as my students become better writers and more critical thinkers.
Most influential person in your life and why: Jesus Christ and my parents, for all of the obvious reasons.
